In Her Own Words

Rosemary’s passion to help others know God was evident in the words she wrote and said.

The Bible Rosemary used as she compiled verses that exemplify God’s attributes. She used these verses in writing her book, Praying the Attributes of God.

Praying the Attributes of God: A Guide to Personal Worship Through Prayer
At age 16, God put into Rosemary’s heart the desire to teach others about him. So she began a program of daily Bible reading that persisted throughout her life. She set a goal to read through the entire Bible and write out the verses that exemplified or explained God’s attributes. She spent more than 3 years reading and writing the verses. Going over the verses month after month, she found her increasing knowledge of God’s attributes led her to praise and give thanks each day. She found her prayers of petition to be more God-centered. She wanted others to experience the same. This book is a compilation of the verses she discovered, the attributes of God they present, and Rosemary’s prayers on each topic.

Living the Words of Jesus: Meditations on 96 Crucial Topics of the Christian Life
Rosemary wrote this book originally for her own use. Having the mind of Christ was her goal as she set out to make her own reference book to become more Christlike in her thinking. The book contains 96 topics specifically addressed by Christ.

Humble Heroes
Rosemary compiled and edited this book about godly African individuals who made a difference in their countries. Rosemary knew each of the heroes highlighted in the book and was greatly encouraged by how they stood for the gospel and the truths of Scripture in the midst of great difficulties.

Words of Wisdom from Rosemary

“And whether you feel adequate or not is really not the issue. You’re not adequate. I’m not either. But God is. He is the one who intends to see that his work is done.”

“When we seek God's kingdom, he'll take care of all our needs.”

“We can’t argue over the foundation of our faith, which is that man is saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone.”

“My own testimony is just that I’ve lived longer than any of you here, so I know. And God does not fail his own children.”

“A nation is changed permanently by changing its individuals, and God has to do that by his Spirit. Therefore, it makes sense to help a nation troubled by poverty by getting its children the opportunity to grow up as productive, educated, Christian individuals. This will change the future of that country, and this is the aim of Rafiki.”

“What Rafiki is trying to do is to glorify God by showing a righteous response to the seemingly hopeless circumstances of Africa.”

“You were not created for nothing
. . . You were created for a purpose in God's overarching plans to display his own glory.”

“If I could say everything that I'm going to say in the next 40 minutes... I can do it in two words. Trust God. You can't do what you're asked to do unless you trust God.”
