Continent Wide Ambitions
From the moment they arrived, it was Rosemary's goal to teach Africans to know God and to help them in practical ways to raise their standard of living. For her, it meant teaching the Bible, nurturing minds through education, and equipping others with the skills of craftsmanship. During this time, she gave birth to two more daughters, Kathy and Tova.
Robert's Medical Career
Robert, a true doctor at heart, wanted nothing less than to transform medical care in Tanzania. He and a group of colleagues worked tirelessly to establish the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre. This 450-bed hospital which rests on the slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro was one of the largest medical centers in all of west Africa when it was built. It is still operational to this day.
“Bob and I lived in Tanzania for nine years. I realize now, in looking back, that God uses every experience in our lives to prepare us to do special work for him. I had gained experience in Africa, but I needed more than that.”
