The Rafiki School Curriculum and Bible Study
As Rafiki Schools were established across Africa, Rosemary believed students needed an excellent education firmly rooted in Scripture. Out of that vision came two of her most meaningful contributions: the Rafiki Classical Christian School Curriculum and the Rafiki Bible Study.
The Rafiki Classical Christian School Curriculum was developed over many years to give students a strong academic education shaped by the classical Christian tradition. It combined rigorous learning with biblical truth and the development of Christian character. Rosemary wanted students to be prepared not only for future careers, but also for lives of faith and service.
At the same time, Rosemary led the development of the Rafiki Bible Study, a verse-by-verse study through all 66 books of the Bible. Written over thirteen years by a team of respected Reformed theologians and edited by Dr. David F. Wells, the studies were created to make faithful biblical teaching clear and accessible. Each lesson includes commentary, doctrinal teaching, and questions that help readers think carefully about God’s Word.
Originally written for adults and later adapted for children, the Rafiki Bible Study has been used by students, teachers, and staff throughout Rafiki’s ministries. In 2019, the studies were revised for a wider audience and released in the United States.
These projects reflect Rosemary Jensen’s deep belief that Christian education should shape both the mind and the heart, helping the next generation know the truth, love the Lord, and serve others well.
